Mike Mobley
Bio
Originally from Celina, Ohio, Mike Mobley is a natural talent whose rare blend of musical instinct, lyrical integrity, and hit-making sensibility has defined his career. Inspired by years of listening to his father practice guitar, Mobley taught himself to play entirely by ear—even if it meant learning left-handed and upside down. His unconventional technique never slowed him down; by his teens, he had become an in-demand musician on the regional club circuit.
Between late-night gigs and writing jingles for local businesses, Mobley soon caught the attention of country artists Chely Wright and Rachel Proctor, both of whom recruited him for their touring bands. When Wright and Proctor went on to record his songs, combined with advice from his brother, hit songwriter Wendell Mobley, Mike made the decision to pursue songwriting full time.
Since relocating to Nashville in 2004, Mike Mobley has built an impressive resume, earning cuts and singles across genres. His songs have been recorded by Martina McBride, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Boyz II Men, Jewel, Chicago, Trace Adkins, Rodney Atkins, Brantley Gilbert, Emerson Drive, The Judds, Joe Nichols, Chuck Wicks, Clay Walker, Rascal Flatts, and Natasha Bedingfield—including Bedingfield’s duet with Rascal Flatts, “Easy,” which became the group’s fifth AC Top 20 hit. He also penned “Billy’s Got His Beer Goggles On” for Neal McCoy.
